In the sixties and seventies of the last century, hippies arrived in Ibiza from the United States and Europe, and one of the legacies they left us on the island is the craft markets. We recommend our favorites so you can make a market route during your visit to Ibiza:
Las Dalias
The famous Las Dalias market is a leap back into the island's hippie era. This place seems to have remained trapped in time and offers a very peculiar atmosphere. On their website lasdalias.es you can check their updated opening hours, as there are day and night sessions and special events.
Sant Joan Market
On Sundays you have an appointment in the charming village of Sant Joan de Labritja. Artisans gather every Sunday and set up their stalls in the village streets with live music and a very bohemian and lively atmosphere.
Sant Antoni Craft Market
During the summer months, you can find the artisan market every afternoon on the Paseo de las Fuentes in Sant Antoni (just in front of The Red Hotel). A handful of stalls selling beads, art, clothing, Ibizan products, and other crafts.
Sant Jordi Market
Every Saturday throughout the year, you can go to the Sant Jordi hippodrome and stroll around while browsing the multitude of stalls where locals sell second-hand items. It is a very curious place to visit since you can find everything from antique furniture to a stall with leather clothes, jewelry, paintings, old photographs…
Punta Arabí Hippie Market
The Punta Arabí Hippie Market or Es Canar Market has been open since 1973, making it the oldest market on the island. You can visit from April to October every Wednesday and lose yourself in its streets shaded by large trees to shelter from the heat while watching artisans at work, shows, music, and a multitude of attractions.
