Visiting Formentera is absolutely mandatory and unforgivable if you don't save a day of your vacation for it. A wonderful opportunity to get to know what many consider to be the last paradise of the Mediterranean, which also has an added incentive: it can only be reached by boat since the island does not have an airport. Making this journey by boat is already an experience in itself, as you will discover the other side of Ibiza, the natural and relaxed side, while sailing its coasts.
An advantage of choosing one of our Ibiza Feeling Hotels? Boat departures to Formentera are right in front of the reception of The Red Hotel, The Blue Apartments, and The White apartments, and just 5 minutes away from The Purple Hotel. Therefore, preparing your excursion to Formentera couldn't be more convenient or easier for you.
Take note of these key places that you cannot miss during your visit to the most natural island in the Mediterranean, and the experience will be a very special memory:
The beach of Ses Illetes, integrated into the Ses Salines Natural Park, is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, and for good reason! Since during the year 2017 it was selected as the best beach in Spain. A beach of fine golden sand, turquoise waters, surrounded by nature that evokes the Caribbean itself… although we warn you, it has nothing to envy of the paradisiacal beaches of Punta Cana!
Now it's time to talk about Migjorn beach, located in the south of the island, which is the longest beach on the island. This beach of white sands and turquoise waters will be one of your favorite spots to relax, since thanks to its large size, the density of swimmers is lower than in other smaller coves and beaches.
Your day in Formentera will have 4 mandatory highlights: beaches, sun, paella, and lighthouses. One of the most picturesque attractions of the island is its two lighthouses: the first is the Cap de Barbaria Lighthouse, an iconic place that many surely know from the movie 'Lucía y el sexo' by Julio Médem, and the La Mola Lighthouse, also well known for appearing in a Jules Verne novel. It is well worth staying at the latter to watch the sunset… simply spectacular.
